Soccer predictions online for Roma – Fiorentina
AS Roma faces Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico in an interesting game from the first round of the Serie A. Stay with us and our soccer predictions online for this match. We are ready!
An exciting new era begins for Roma. The club managed to surprises most of its supporters by hiring Jose Mourinho as the new manager of the Wolves. The Special One will replace his compatriot Paulo Fonseca who left the club after two mediocre seasons at the Olimpico. Now Mourinho will have the goal to bring Roma back to the Top 4 and the Champions League. It won’t be easy, but he’s not a coach who is afraid of big challenges.
On the transfer market Mourinho already started making some deals. He sent the Spanish goalkeeper Pau Lopez to France and replaced him with his compatriot Rui Patricio from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Although Patricio is 33-years old already, Mourinho clearly wants to use him as his number one at the Olimpico.
At the same time Roma also paid 9 million euro to Atalanta for the centre-back Roger Ibanez while 6.75 million were paid to American side FC Dallas for the 20-years old right back Bryan Reynolds. We expect the Wolves to make some more deals on the market until the end of the summer.
Pau Lopez is not the only player who left the club this summer. The Turkish winger Cengiz Under was loaned to the same club as Pau Lopez – Olympique Marseille. Meanwhile Justin Kluivert was loaned to Nice while Bruno Peres, Juan Jesus, Antonio Mirante and Simone Farelli all left Roma as free agents.
There are some news regarding the capital club from the last few days. The Swiss international Granit Xhaka is very close to completing his move to the Olimpico. It’s being said that Mourinho is a huge fan of Xhaka’s capabilities and he pushed the club to sign him from Arsenal. It seems that he’s going to be one of the key players in Roma’s midfield for the next season.
Jose Mourinho has some really exciting players in his squad right now. The midfielder Bryan Cristante showed his skill during the Euro 2020 while Lorenzo Pellegrini is another talented player in the midfield area of the pitch. But surely the 22-years old Nicolo Zaniolo is one of the brightest prospects in the club. He missed the last season because of a serious injury, but now he’s ready to shine again and remind us how good he is.
Roma played three friendlies since the beginning of their pre-season and they won all three of them. The Wolves achieved a 10-0 win against Valdinievole in the first one while in the second one they beat Ternana with 2-0. In their last friendly game up to date Mourinho’s boys faced Triestina and achieved a 1-0 win. That’s 13 goals in three games played, so it’s not bad from the Wolves, right?
The 19-years old Polish teenager Nicola Zalewski scored the winning goal against Triestina. He’s an interesting talent and we are sure Mourinho is going to give him some chances to shine.
Fiorentina start the new season with new hopes and new manager on board. This is the 43-years old tactician Vincenzo Italiano who arrives at the Artemio Franchi from Spezia. He’s still not a big name among the coaches in Italy, but surely managing Fiorentina is a great chance for him to prove his qualities. He did a really good job with Spezia, but now he’s coaching a much bigger club. Let’s see if he can handle the pressure in Florence.
Fiorentina already made one big signing on the summer transfer market. La Viola paid 23 million euro to Stuttgart for the talented Argentine winger Nicolas Gonzalez. The club also paid 5 million euro to SPAL for the young Brazilian centre-back Igor. These two signings should strenghten Fiorentina’s squad and help the team perform much better compared to the last few seasons. La Viola are a big club in Italy, but lately they are not exactly impressing their fans.
Some players left Fiorentina as well. Franck Ribery left the club as a free agent while Borja Valero chose to put an end to his career. At the same time Alban Lafont, Federico Ceccherini and David Hancko all got sold. Maximiliano Olivera, Valentin Eysseric, Kevin Diks, Petko Hristov, Martin Caceres and Toni Fruk all left the club as well. We can say the club found a way to remove a lot of deadwood this summer.
The new head coach Vincenzo Italiano surely has some talented players on his disposal at the moment. Cristiano Biraghi and German Pezzella are two players who are influential in defense while Eric Pulgar, Riccardo Saponara, Sofyan Amrabat, Giacomo Bonaventura and Gaetano Castrovilli are more than important in midfield. In attack the 21-years old Serbian Dusan Vlahovic is a future star while Jose Callejon and Aleksandr Kokorin are bringing some vital experience to the team. We are about to see what the new signing Nicolas Gonzalez could offer to the squad as well. He’s really expensive, so the fans will hope to see a lot from him.
Last season Fiorentina finished 13th in the Serie A standings, winning just 9 of their matches in the league. Once again the fans weren’t happy with these stats and they had all reasons to feel unhappy. The big question right now is this – can Fiorentina improve? And is Vincenzo Italiano the right coach to lead them in this process of growing?

This is the first round of the 2021/22 season, so both clubs would want to impress and start their campaign in the right way. Maybe Roma are favorites here, but we can’t say they have the easiest opponent here. Both teams are starting the season with new managers, so it’s really difficult to predict this one.
