Soccer predictions online for Spain – Poland
We take our attention to the Estadio Olimpico de Sevilla where Spain will face Poland in a match from Group E of the Euro 2020. We believe this is a great moment for us to present you our soccer predictions online for this fixture. Here we go!
Spain didn’t start their Euro 2020 entirely according to the plan as they only won a point against Sweden few days ago. These two teams met in Sevilla, but the match ended with a 0-0 draw. The truth is both teams had chances to score, but we didn’t have the luck to see goals.
Alvaro Morata and Gerard Moreno missed Spain’s best chances against Sweden. Morata had the opportunity to score one on one with the keeper, but he send the ball wide. Meanwhile Gerard Moreno headed the ball from a close distance at the end of the game, but Sweden’s goalkeeper Robert Olsen made a fantastic save.
What kind of team the manager Luis Enrique picked in the first game? He put Alvaro Morata at the top of the attack while Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres started on the wings. Rodri, Pedri and Koke started in midfield while Jordi Alba, Pau Torres, Aymeric Laporte and Marcos Llorente were put in defense. Enrique left David de Gea on the bench and picked Unai Simon instead.
In the second half Enrique saw that things are not working for La Roja, so he looked at his bench. Thiago Alcantara and Pablo Sarabia were his first substitutions who were followed by Mikel Oyarzabal, Gerard Moreno and Fabian Ruiz. The head coach used all of his five substitutions, but nothing really happened.
Barcelona’s left back Jordi Alba was one of the best performers for Spain against the Scandinavians. The veteran was all around the left flank and made some great attacking runs. Alba’s crosses were always a danger for the Swedish defense, but the strikers were unable to execute them in the best way possible.
Alvaro Morata, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres started the game in attack, but generally they disappointed with their performance. That’s why it’s very possible all three of them to be benched in the next game. Players like Gerard Moreno, Pablo Sarabia, Mikel Oyarzabal and Adama Traore are all ready to play and show why they deserve a starting place in La Roja’s team. Spain’s attack wasn’t efficient against Sweden, so surely Luis Enrique must find some kind of solution for this problem. Most likely now the head coach would hear some criticism why he didn’t call Real Madrid’s winger Marco Asensio or Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas – two players who can change games in attack.
Changes could be made in midfield, too. Barcelona’s Pedri looked tired at the end of the game, so Thiago or Fabian Ruiz could replace him against Poland. Rodri and Koke should keep their places in the line-up. Another option is Marcos Llorente to be moved in midfield while Cesar Azpilicueta take his place as right back.
Poland became one of the biggest disappointments in the first round of the Euro 2020 group stage. The White and Reds were absolute favorites against Slovakia, but at the end they conceded a 1-2 loss in Saint-Petersburg. Torino’s Karol Linetty scored for Paulo Sousa’s team, but Grzegorz Krychowiak’s red card in the 62th minute really made it very difficult for the Polish team. Krychowiak is a very experienced player, but he got two yellow cards and had to leave the pitch. This made Slovakia very confident on the pitch, so the Falcons found a way to win this game.
Paulo Sousa’s first task for this game must be finding a replacement for Grzegorz Krychowiak in the midfield area. This could be Norwich City’s Przemyslaw Placheta who is ready to hop in the line-up and show his qualities. Chicago Fire’s Przemyslaw Frankowski could be an option, too. He already made an appearance at the Euro because he was picked from the bench against the Slovaks.
Poland’s main man Robert Lewandowski was nowhere to be seen in the most of the time against Slovakia. He’s probably the best striker in the world right now, but he lacked service from his teammates – a problem which he faces often in the national team. Piotr Zielinski had to support him as a second striker in Poland’s formation, but Napoli’s man wasn’t productive at all. Karol Linetty and Mateusz Klich tried to make attacking runs from the midfield, but it didn’t lead to anything, too – expect of Linetty’s goal in the beginning of the second half.
Paulo Sousa must now find a way to wake up the Polish team from the lethargy. Yes – Krychowiak’s red card played a great deal in the defeat against Slovakia, but even with 10 men Poland could have done more against the Falcons. We are sure they were not lacking motivation because this is the European Championship, but something was lacking in their mental state in this game. They need to forget it as quick as possible.
Piotr Zielinski could be crucial for Poland against Spain. Everyone knows what Robert Lewandowski can do, and you can be sure the Spanish team will pay him special attention. This could give free space for Zielinski to show why he wears the shirt of Napoli – one of the best Italian teams at the moment. He’s very talented player who can do a lot of damage, but he must step up his game compared to what he showed against Slovakia in the first round.
That’s our soccer predictions online for the Euro 2020 clash between Spain and Poland from Group E of the competition. Both teams didn’t win their first games, but the difference is that La Roja at least got a point. Spain are favorites to take the win here, but Poland will be very motivated to avoid losing a second consecutive game. Because of this we believe that a very good match is ahead of us. Spain must show why they are contenders for the trophy, while Paulo Sousa’s team will fight for its survival in the tournament.
